Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of ‘The Grind Date’, De La Soul Drops New Single “Bigger”

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of De La Soul’s landmark album The Grind Date, BMG will be releasing special vinyl and CD editions of the original album on March 21. These new packages will include bonus tracks, instrumental versions, and a fresh take on this iconic 2004 release, which helped solidify the trio’s place in hip-hop history.

The Grind Date was a defining moment for De La Soul, mixing sharp lyrics with innovative production, and a blend of playful and reflective themes. The album also featured some of the genre’s most celebrated artists, including the late MF Doom, Ghostface Killah, Carl Thomas, and Common, making it a truly standout project in the group’s career.

In addition to this anniversary celebration, De La Soul just dropped “Bigger,” the first of two new songs to be released this year. Featuring Choklate, “Bigger” is an exciting step forward for the group as they continue to push their unique sound into the future while honoring their rich legacy.
