Kyriq Returns With New Hit Single “HALO”

Jabari Kyriq Capers (born June 16, 1998), better known by his stage name “Kyriq”, is an American rapper, songwriter, and poet from Houston Texas. He began his journey as a poet/spoken word artist; winning several poetry slams including the Miami’s MLK Oratorical Contest (2010 and 2013) and Young Talent Big Dreams Spoken Word Competition (2015).

In 2017, Kyriq was crowned the winner of the Broken Complex “State of the Union Rap Contest” and Dizzy Wright’s “The Golden Age Rap Contest”. The latter opened the door for him to collaborate with Dizzy Wright on multiple songs.

Additionally, his single “Muscle Memory” produced by the Groove House Syndicate is featured in one of the short films selected in the Beats By Dre Black Futures Contest. As a member of multiple artistic collectives, Kyriq is well-respected amongst his peers and known for his diverse rhyming structures, intricate metaphors, and complex schemes.

Kyriq’s latest offering titled, “HALO”, is a new hit single about transforming your mindset and finding the good in what you have going for yourself. The hook echoes “all my lonely thoughts like a halo, know my only loss like a fable it’s all fake. Moonlight on the stars got me stable, you seeing my scars got me thankful”. The intention behind each phrase is meant for transforming the thoughts of being alone in your struggles to now deeming your journey as sacred and wearing them as a halo.

Knowing your time here is meant for learning encourages you to find comfort in taking a “loss” because it’s never really a loss until you stop trying. It’s always a moment to learn something and improve. The groovy texture and dreamy melody is meant to evoke a state of euphoria.

Check out “HALO” available now on all streaming platforms and be sure to follow Kyriq on social media for his latest releases.
