Bodega Bamz Proclaims Himself “The King”

While Spanish Harlem royalty Bodega Bamz just dropped his last album “Yams Heard This” at the end of last Summer, he’s already back with “The King,” the lead single off his upcoming LP, “El Camino.” This new joint is produced by JohnBoy Beats, who flips a familiar sample to evoke nostalgia.

The brass-driven track calls back to two of Bamz’ fan-favorite songs: “Where My Horns At” from his jump off project “Strictly 4 My P.A.P.I.Z.” and “El Rey” off his Duck Down debut “Sidewalk Exec.” In fact, he even repurposes part of the hook from “El Rey” here.

Bamz flexes his verbal dexterity on this one, bragging that he can do any style from commercial to spiritual to lyrical. Heads better get ready because this cut is just the warning shot before the barrage.
