What God Wants Us To Know

“I am patient and merciful, but refusing to listen to Me will eventually bring consequences because My warnings are meant to restore you, not destroy you.”

2 Kings records the decline and eventual destruction of both the northern kingdom of Israel and the southern kingdom of Judah. Despite sending prophets to warn, correct, and call His people back, Israel and Judah repeatedly reject God's commands and pursue idolatry. The fall of these kingdoms demonstrates that God's patience should never be mistaken for approval of rebellion. Yet even in judgment, God preserves a remnant and remains faithful to His promises. 2 Kings reveals that God's justice and mercy exist together: He disciplines rebellion while continuing to pursue restoration.
