DJ Jean Maron and Forsyth Enter New Time Zones With Star-Studded Project

French DJ and producer DJ Jean Maron has teamed up with New York artist Forsyth for Time Zones, a cross-Atlantic hip-hop collaboration bringing together a diverse lineup of established and emerging voices. The project features appearances from Redman, Fat Joe, Dave East, M-Dot, Prop Dylan, Alyssa Jane and Teen AF, creating a meeting point between international production and New York-rooted lyricism. Time Zones is now available across all major streaming platforms.

Leading the project is “C.R.E.A.M.,” a contemporary reinterpretation of one of hip-hop’s most recognizable concepts. Rather than simply revisiting the familiar phrase, Jean Maron and Forsyth flip its meaning for an era defined by inflation, financial pressure and the complicated relationship between money and modern life. Alyssa Jane revisits the iconic 1993 hook over Jean Maron’s new production, while the acronym takes on a darker meaning: “Cash Ruins Everything Around Me.”

The three verses move away from the traditional celebration of what money can provide and instead examine what it can cost. That shift gives “C.R.E.A.M.” its central tension, transforming a familiar hip-hop reference into commentary on the consequences of chasing, possessing and depending upon wealth.

The project’s lead release, the “Inflation Remix,” pushes that concept even further, pairing Newark lyricist Redman with Boston native M-Dot, a frequent collaborator within Jean Maron’s growing body of work. Their appearance gives the track an additional layer of veteran lyricism while reinforcing the project's broader international character.

With Time Zones, Jean Maron and Forsyth aren't simply assembling a collection of collaborations.
