Buffalo’s Y.N.X. 716 Connects With Long Island’s DJ Concept for Their Collab EP, Conceptual Thoughts

DJ Concept connects with Buffalo lyricist Y.N.X. 716 on their collaborative extended player, Conceptual Thoughts. Despite its concise 15-minute duration, the six track EP packs a powerful punch as YNX skillfully navigates the diverse musical landscape crafted entirely by DJ Concept. 

The album takes its audience on a sonic journey, seamlessly transitioning from classic hip-hop vibes on tracks like “Mainstream,” to ethereal backdrops like “Beautiful Noise,” concluding with a feel good banger on “Long Way Up.” 

Throughout the album, YNX articulates his thoughts with compelling bars such as “I’m day dreaming with my eyes open, it’s no discussion once my mind spoken, might have been broke but never broken, its like lyrical emotion for the chosen, bars potent like dope in the crack era, I ain’t boasting.”

Didier Malherbe in 1990's Fetish CD [plus 1979 Bloom, 1981 Melodic Destiny, 1986 Faton Bloom, 1989 Saxo Folies]

  I thought for sure I posted him before, but only in connection with Faton Cahen, here , and Patrice Meyer . Of course he's most known for the work he did with Gong . From the requested album Fetish, released 1990, the last 2 songs feature synth player Rykiel, discogged here .  These are really lovely, consider Hors D'oeuvres: I'm assuming everyone is already familiar with the great Bloom album and Faton Bloom, which is a kind of follow up from 1986 with Cahen.  From that one, the lovely but oddly named Vulvox: From the cassette only release with guitarist Yan Emeric, A Breughel really blew me away in its compositional glory, I am not sure which of his paintings the progressive complexity could be alluding to: Otherwise this release is a bit of mixed bag.
