THROWBACK THURSDAY: Lords of the Underground (Hip Hop Trio)


Lords of the Underground, aka L.O.T.U.G., hip-hop trio comprised of MCs Mr. Funke & DoItAll Dupré, and DJ Lord Jazz. Having met as students at the HBCU Shaw University, the group matched socially conscious raps with hard-hitting beats. Their hits include Chief Rocka, Here Come the Lords, Psycho, Funky Child, & Tic Toc. They won a BET award as best rap group of the year, and are best remembered in connection with the golden age of hip hop.
